Barbara Harvey

Project Connect Coordinator

Barbara Harvey is the Project Connect Coordinator for THRIVE.  As the Coordinator, Barbara connects individuals with local resources by providing referrals and will be scheduling workshops and classes to be offered in The Blocker Room, our conference room that sits 50 people people. In addition, she assists clients to obtain vital records such as copies of ID, social security cards, birth certificates, and will assist clients to apply for benefits such as Food Stamps, TANF, Medicaid, child care and more to increase a person's resources and sustainability.

Barbara’s passion has always been helping the most vulnerable in the community. In volunteering, Barbara realized many individuals did not have the proper documents to gain employment, housing and government services and it became Barbara’s mission to provide those services.

Barbara served in the U.S. Army and obtained her Master’s degree from George Washington University in Human Resources Management. She has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor/Case Manager for the past 27 years, volunteered with THRIVE over the past few years, and served as a Board Member for THRIVE. When not working/volunteering, Barbara spends her time with her husband, daughter and dog, Beauregard. She loves reading, watching movies and visiting with friends & neighbors.
