“Ain’t no mountain high enough” to keep VBS trekkers from wisely lending a helping hand!
This summer, at Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown, Vacation Bible School students were challenged to create a mountain of food to help families through the safaris of life. Climbing the thematic Mount Kilimanjaro, over 200 children collected 646.5 lbs. of non-perishables valued at $1111.98 to help THRIVE Peninsula fight hunger in our community!
Preschoolers through fifth grade engaged in hands-on activities teaching that Wisdom comes from the one true, all-wise God, who wants us to be wise! During an epic expedition through Proverbs, hikers learned to have:
Each of us are faced with choices every day: do we choose wisely or foolishly? Sounds like adverse camp conditions didn’t hinder our hearty sojourners from wisely and caringly reaching out to our neighbors experiencing great hardship!
