By sharpening the minds, hearts and hands of youth through Imitate 2015 Missions Camp, an explosion of God’s love was created this summer! Joined by nine other local churches, THRIVE Peninsula Partner Seaford Baptist Church served as a hub for 180 students from three different states mirroring Christ to the Hampton Roads’ hungry.
Culminating the week of July 4th, a myriad of hands-on missions accomplished by Gospel-infused campers radiated out into our community and beyond. Among these service projects were food collections to equip various local pantries. Non-perishable food donations received by THRIVE totaled 683 pounds, valued at $1,175! Campers also canvassed their neighborhoods to help THRIVE use a total of 531 pairs of shoes to aid those locally, in emergency crisis, and globally, through micro-enterprises. Whether Independence Day or just another day of the week, may the Spirit of radical love and service to others be ignited in each of us! Thank you Seaford Baptist Church and camp students for your fire, energy and well-imitating God’s Love in word and deed!
